Terms of Use

By accessing or using Hometriva (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy and Lead Sharing Disclosure, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

The Site is intended for users who are at least 18 years old and located in the United States. You may use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial home-project planning, and for legitimate business research that complies with these terms. You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you submit and for all activity conducted through your use of the Site.

Hometriva publishes home-project planning information, including cost estimates and cost ranges, permit information, timelines, local rules, project requirements, calculators, comparisons and other planning material. All of it is informational only. Nothing on the Site is a binding quote, an offer to perform work, or a professional opinion about your specific property or project.

Cost figures on Hometriva are modeled estimates. Actual costs vary based on the property, the contractor, materials, labor availability, market conditions, project complexity, permits, inspections, local conditions and unexpected conditions discovered during work. Hometriva estimates are not guaranteed project pricing and should not be relied on as a substitute for written bids from qualified providers.

Building codes, permit requirements, fees, rules and agency procedures change over time and differ by jurisdiction. Before starting work, verify current requirements with the applicable municipality, county, state agency, building department or permitting authority, and with a licensed professional where appropriate.

Hometriva does not provide legal, engineering, architectural, contracting, tax or other regulated professional advice, unless such advice is expressly provided to you by an appropriately licensed third party. Your use of the Site does not create any professional relationship with Hometriva.

Hometriva may allow you to request contact from independent service providers or marketing partners. Unless we expressly state otherwise:

• Hometriva is not the contractor and does not perform the work.
• Service providers are independent third parties, not our agents or employees.
• We do not guarantee provider availability, price, workmanship or scheduling.
• We do not guarantee licensing or insurance status unless we specifically state that we verified it for that provider.
• Any agreement, payment, warranty or dispute relating to the work is solely between you and the provider.
• You are responsible for your own diligence — checking licenses, insurance, references and written contracts — before hiring anyone.

If you submit an estimate request, you confirm that the contact details you provide are your own and that you agree to the consent language shown with that form, including any consent to be contacted by phone, text or email by Hometriva and participating providers. Consent to marketing contact is never a condition of using the Site or of purchasing anything, and you may opt out at any time using the instructions in our Privacy Policy or by replying STOP to text messages.

Hometriva may receive compensation when you request an estimate, when your contact information is transmitted to a participating provider or marketing partner, when a qualified call is placed, or when you purchase through an affiliate relationship, where applicable. Compensation never changes the cost or permit research we publish, and using the Site's information never requires you to submit a request.

The Site links to government agencies, data sources and other third-party websites and services. Those sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and Hometriva is not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices.

The Hometriva name and logo, page content, original research, data presentation, calculators, graphics, compilations, databases and site design are owned by Hometriva or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may view, print and share individual pages for personal, non-commercial use with attribution. You may not copy, scrape, republish, resell or create derivative databases from the Site without our written permission, to the extent such restrictions are enforceable. We claim no ownership over underlying government records, building codes, statutes or other public-domain source material we cite; our rights extend to our own selection, arrangement, analysis and presentation of that material.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its systems or its data.
• Use automated tools, crawlers, scripts or data-extraction methods to harvest the Site in order to reproduce, resell or retrain on the service at scale, except for search-engine crawling that respects our robots directives.
• Interfere with, overload or disrupt the Site or its infrastructure.
• Circumvent, disable or attempt to defeat rate limits, bot protection or other technical access controls, including by rotating IP addresses, spoofing a search-engine crawler or distributing requests across networks to evade limits.
• Systematically extract Site content in order to build, train or operate a product that reproduces or substitutes for Hometriva. Machine-scale access is available under the API data license.
• Submit fraudulent, fake or automated form submissions or estimate requests.
• Impersonate another person, or submit another person's contact details.
• Misuse contact forms for solicitation, spam or abuse.
• Use the Site in violation of any applicable law, rule or regulation.

If you submit corrections, cost reports, feedback or other content, you grant Hometriva a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt and publish that content in connection with the Site, including in aggregated or anonymized form. You represent that you have the right to share what you submit and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hometriva disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Hometriva does not warrant that information on the Site is complete, error-free, current or continuously available.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hometriva is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings or property damage, arising from your use of the Site or your dealings with any service provider. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, for access to it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hometriva and its owners, officers and personnel from claims, damages, losses and reasonable expenses arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these terms or applicable law, your submission of another person's information, or your dealings with any service provider.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, and we may update these Terms of Use. Updates take effect when posted here with a new "Last Updated" date, and continued use of the Site after that date means you accept the updated terms.

We may restrict, suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms, submitted fraudulent requests, or created risk or legal exposure for Hometriva or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnification — continue to apply.

If you have a concern about the Site, please contact us first at support@hometriva.com so we can try to resolve it informally. Most issues — inaccurate data, an unwanted contact request, or a correction — are resolved quickly this way. Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot waive under applicable consumer-protection law.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and Lead Sharing Disclosure and any consent language presented with a form you submit, are the entire agreement between you and Hometriva regarding the Site. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
