The formula
Boxes = (area x (1 + waste)) / coverage per box
Order 10% extra for straight-lay installations and 15% for diagonal or herringbone patterns, plus extra for future repairs.
Worked example
A 15 x 20 room is 300 sq ft. With 10% waste and 24 sq ft boxes, that is 14 boxes.
